Derik Dewayne Davis Jr.

Derik Dewayne Davis Jr. (DJ) was born Nov. 12, 2010, to Kaishau Kirby and Derik Davis Sr. at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. DJ departed this life Saturday, July 20, 2019, at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 8 years. He was surrounded by his family.

DJ leaves to cherish his wonderful memories his mother, Kaishau Kirby of Blytheville; his father, Derik Dewayne Davis, Sr. of Charleston, Mo.; four sisters, Ebony Perry and Emoni Knight, both of Blytheville, Derika Harris of Jonesboro and Taaliyah Hines of Charleston, Mo.; three brothers, Elijah Bradford of Blytheville, Darius Davis of Charleston, Mo., and DeAndre Davis of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; his grandmothers, JoAnn Cooper Knight of Jonesboro, Justine Horton of Charleston, Mo., and Brenda Webb of Blytheville; his grandfathers, Eugene Horton of Charleston, Mo., and Amos Kirby Jr. of Caruthersville, Mo.; his great-grandmothers, Mary Ann Edwards of Steele, Mo., and Josephine Knight of LaVergne, Tenn.; his great-great-grandmother, Hattie Cooper of Steele, Mo., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends that loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held from 1-1:55 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at New Bethel M.B. Church, 1255 South 9th Street Church, Blytheville. Service will follow at 2 p.m., Pastor Howard Smith officiating.
