Dorothy “Doll” Sharkey

Dorothy “Doll” Sharkey, 57, of Blytheville passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was born Aug. 30, 1961 in Osceola, to Lydia Wright, Jr. and Joann Stone Wright. She was a faithful member of Pentecostal Power of Everlasting Truth under the leadership of Bishop Johnson Stone where she served as a Drummer, Missionary, and Usher.

“Doll” leaves to forever cherish her memories her husband, Joe Sharkey, Jr. of the home; her parents, Lydia Wright, Jr. of Jonesboro and JoAnn Peoples of Blytheville; one daughter, JoAnn (LaTorrance) Aldridge of Blytheville; one son, Joe Sharkey, III of Blytheville; five sisters, Lisa Wright of Jonesboro, Pamela Smith of Blytheville, Marjorie Rogers of Blytheville, Yvette (Joseph) Chapman of Jonesboro, and Arnetra Brown of Blytheville; four brothers; Henry (Freedia) Peoples of Blytheville, Lonnie (Zaccarra) Wight of Killeen, Texas, Percy (Betty) Wright of Jonesboro, Jay (Amber) Lewis of Kennett, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Mary Witherspoon of Little Rock; three stepsons, Larry Hodges of Blytheville, Jeronun Moore and Joseph Coleman, both of West Memphis; four grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, until service time at noon at Eternal Salvation Pentecostal Church, 1914 West Cherry Street, Blytheville. Bishop John Mayberry is the pastor.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon. Bishop Johnson Stone will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette.

McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of all services and arrangements.
