Ollieda “Leda” Rene Richardson

Ollieda “Leda” Rene Richardson, 71, of Gosnell passed away at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. She was born in Memphis, Tenn., to Jess and Ruth Alton Moore on Feb. 2, 1948. She retired after 22 1/2 years with Cyro Industries. She loved her church and was very proud to be a long-time member of Bethany Baptist in Gosnell. Leda was known as a jokester and loved helping others as she did so on many occasions. She cared for everyone.

Her hobbies included flower gardening and fishing. She enjoyed cooking, the grandchildren really loved her chicken and dumplings, chocolate cobbler and pineapple upside cake. She also enjoyed playing softball. At one time she played on a league team and also loved to play softball on the old church team. She loved her family. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jess Moore; and her brother, Terry Walker.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Richardson, of the home; one son, Dale and Christy Woody, of Manila; two daughters, Vicky Woody of Heber Springs and Shelley and Gaylon Boyd of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; grandchildren, Leigha Woody, Landon and Hanna Woody, Lauren Woody, Ciera and Hunter Russom, Tiea Peterson, Halli Boyd; great-grandchildren, Abry Boyd, Christian Boyd, Blake Woody, Jemma Woody, and two on the way; her mother, Ruth Halford, of Gosnell; one sister, Phyllis Flowers, of Jonesboro; and many friends and family that will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Bethany Baptist Church in Gosnell with Bro. Gary Hyde officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Baptist. Burial will be at Carney Cemetery.
