Gene Schrader Adams, 46, of Manila, passed from this life Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Jonesboro, he was a lifelong Manila resident and was a 1991 graduate of Manila High School. He later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Arkansas State University in 1995. A prominent area farmer and landowner, Gene was an entrepreneur on many levels. His many interests included Gene Adams Farms, Adams Agri, cattle ranching, and property rentals. Known for his community involvement, he was a mentor to many area young men and assisted with the development of local businesses. As an avid outdoorsman, Gene's hobbies led him to career opportunities resulting in his reputation as a renowned hunting guide. He operated Black Mallard Hunting Service and worked as a guide for Gastineau Outfitters, specializing in trophy quality elk, mule deer, black bear, and mountain lion. A larger than life character, Gene's love for the outdoors was only overshadowed by his love for family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manila.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Robin Towles Adams of Manila; two daughters, Anna Grace Adams and Mattie Claire Adams, both of Manila; his parents, Jimmy and Connie Schrader Adams of Manila; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeremy and Brooke Adams of Jonesboro; and his nephews, Pierce Adams and Beckett Adams.
