Virginia Darby Cable

Virginia Darby Cable, 79, of Steele, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Arkansas Continued Care in Jonesboro. Virginia was born in Blytheville to Benjamin and Ella Altmon Darby. She was the owner and operator of Cables Barbeque and of the Baptist faith. Virginia loved working, sewing and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cable; her parents; and sisters, Ruth Craig, Mary Darby and Doris Burleson.

Virginia leaves her children, Marty Crawford and his wife Rhonda of Blytheville and Katrina Tompkins and her husband Derek of Plano, Texas; brother, Dennis Darby of Greers Ferry; grandchildren, Mitchell, Logan Crawford, Madison Crawford and Jordan and Ashley Tompkins; and great-grandchildren, Greyson Moseley and Marleigh Crawford.

A gathering of Virginia’s friends will be held Monday, April 22, at 3 p.m. in the Dogwood Mausoleum Chapel at Dogwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
