Luther S. "Steve" Lindley

Luther S. "Steve" Lindley, 66, of Manila, formerly of Lake City, passed from this life Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Pocahontas, he was the son of the late Jim Bob and Rosie Dildine Lindley and had been a Manila resident since 2017. Steve was a 1971 graduate of Dell High School and had been a self-employed mechanic before working for Milligan's Riverside Body Shop in Lake City and Darin Owens Farms near Cane Island. He was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church at Cane Island.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Don Lindley; two sisters, Nadine Moore and Kathy Gray; and a stepson, Tommy Seymoure.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lindley of the home; three daughters, Jessica Coleman of Malden, Mo., Stephanie Fitzwater (Kelly) and Rhonda Long (Bobby), all of Lake City; one stepson, Jason Scercy of Malden, Mo.; one brother, Gerald "Jerry" Lindley of Keiser; four sisters, Lillian Midgett of Walnut Ridge, Barbara Midgett of Williford, Doris Whitaker of Alicia and Joyce Lindley of Blytheville. He also leaves nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Bethabara Baptist Church at Cane Island with the Rev. Phillip Powers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Howard Funeral and Cremation Service of Manila.
