Betty Jeane Ward, 83, of Blytheville, formally of Deering, Mo., left this earth to join her beloved husband on March 22, 2019.

Mrs. Betty was born to James Thelma and Loy Turner Lindsey in Randolph, Miss. She graduated from Deering High School in Deering, Mo., and proceeded on to graduate from ASU in Jonesboro with a Master’s Degree. She pursued her passion in teaching at Delta C-7 School in Deering, where after many years she would retire. She had a deep love for teaching and her students. She was a devoted farmers wife who enjoyed helping on the farm, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She cherished all family gatherings, reading and making fudge for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Ward; her parents; one sister, Mary Tidwell; and one nephew, Paul Phillips.

Betty is survived by her sons, Mark (Laura) Ward of Jonesboro and Keith (Gayla) Ward of Deering, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Karesssa Lovins, Beth Gage, Nathan Ward, Andrea Ryan, Kaleigh Hinklin, Tela Ward, Erica Richardson, Grant Richardson, Sloan Richardson; 17 great-grandchildren; and many very loving and caring family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Mo. The family received friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to Clearlake Baptist Church, 3700 East State Highway 148, Blytheville, AR 72315.
