Louise Carter

Louise Carter, 85, of Michie, Tenn., passed away Feb. 27, 2019, at her home. She was retired from American Greetings and a member of Blackwater Church of God at Blackwater. Louise was born March 12, 1933, in Ripley, Miss., to James Franklin and Lillie Tollison Bates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Vernon Carter; two brothers, Tommy Lee Bates and Charlie Clifford Bates; one sister, Lizzie Frances Bates.

She is survived by three brothers Ed Bates of Caraway, Travis Bates of Ripley, Miss., and Milton (Cindy) Bates of Michie, Tenn.; three sisters Flora Vaughn of Ripley, Miss, Mary Ann Banton of Caraway and Lottie Marie (Marshall) Russom of Selmer.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday, March 1, with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola, with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating.
