The Airport and Utilities Committee met on Monday for a special meeting to review bids for repairs to the sewer main at Moultrie and 7th Street. Only one company, Lining and Coating Solutions, LLC of Olive Branch, Miss., submitted a bid for the project. The work for the project includes “light clean sewer main from manhole to manhole, video inspect ot ensure pipe is prepared for line, provide and install 335 ft of 12 inch CIPP (cured in place pipe), the installed liner will be cured by steam or ambient air, re-instate laterals that are connected to the line pipe, provide up to two 12 inch plugs, video inspect after installation to ensure liner was installed properly, any down time out of control of Lining and Coating Solutions, LLC,” according to the $31,577 bid. Sewer director Garry Carr told the committee that he believed that the bid was fairly priced and, in fact, expected that any potential bid would have been much higher than that of LCS’s proposed bid. The committee voted to approve the amount and sent the bid to the finance committee for approval.
