Charlie “Figgie” Whirl

Charlie “Figgie” Whirl, 50, of San Antonio, TX, a former resident of Blytheville, died Monday December 3, 2018 in San Antonio.

He was born in Blytheville, the son of Charlie Whirl, Sr. and Ocie B. Stewart Whirl. Before moving to Texas, “Figgie” was a lifelong resident of Blytheville. While living here he was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

He attended Blytheville High School and was a member of the Class of 1988.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to love and cherish his memory a son, Amondre Whirl of Lehigh Acres, FL; two sisters, Georgia Royster of San Antonio, TX; and Lorene (Rufus) Mitchell, Jr. of Blytheville; one brother, Tony Whirl of Toledo, OH; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Street, Blytheville, where Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor.

Pastor Adron Poole will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church.
