Ollie Lee Wadley, 81, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 at her home. She was born July 3, 1937, in Poughkeepsie to the late Oliver and Jennie Taylor Haynes. Ollie attended Arkansas State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in education. She went on to teach history both at West Jr. High School in Blytheville and at Cross County High School in Cherry Valley. Later in life she worked at Walnut Street Baptist Daycare, caring for infants, whom she dearly loved. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will also be remembered by those who knew her for her caring personality and her beautiful smile.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Karen and Wayne Kender of Jonesboro; a son, Ken Wadley of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Shannon Kender (Stephanie) of Paragould, Misty Allison (Robb) of Jonesboro and Britt Wadley of Jonesboro; five great-grandchildren, Kadin Cline, Anica Allison, Gage Kender, Isabella Kender and Emma Kender.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Wayne Wadley, and a son, Calvin Wayne Wadley Jr.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
