Eula Ciggs

Eula Ciggs was born June 24, 1936 in Clarkedale, Arkansas to the parentage of Henry Lee Davenport and Amanda Hister.

She was saved in her early twenties under the leadership of the late Princeton A. Adams at the Coleman Church of God in Christ. She became a member of Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Henry Davenport Jr. where she served as Sunday school teacher, secretary, and district YWCC.

She worked at American Greetings for 35 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in General Studies at ASU in 1992. She served as a member of Habitat for Humanity, the Arts Council, NAACP, and Black Cultural Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Claude Davenport and a sister Carrie Nelson.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4 sons: Reginald (Phyllis) Davenport of Osceola, Billy Ciggs of Blytheville, Don Ciggs of Lawton, OK, Byron Ciggs (Toni) of Grand Prairie, TX; 2 daughters: Ivy Bruner of Blytheville, and Anita Ciggs Richardson (Berley) of Oklahoma City, OK; 3 brothers: Howard (Polly) Davenport of Lansing, MI, Calvin Davenport of Leesville, LA, and Henry (Katie) Davenport of Blytheville; 2 sisters: Erma (George) Mack of Byron, GA and Shirley (Billy) Johnson of Blytheville; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held: Friday July 27, 2018 (wake) from 5-7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home on 530 Lumerate Street, Blytheville (behind Dominos) and home going celebration on Saturday July, 28th, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Nehemiah Temple C.O.G.I.C., 117 W. McHaney, Blytheville.
