Benny Allen Marr

Benny Allen Marr, 66, of Manila, former longtime Blytheville resident, passed from this life Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Blytheville, he was the son of the late Durwood and Lois Johnese Marr, attended Blytheville High School and was retired from the Nucor-Yamato Steel Mill near Blytheville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying his airplane, woodworking and spending time at his hunting cabin. His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Manila Pilots Association and Bethany Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Marr and Lowell Marr.

Survivors include His wife of 16 years, Rhonda Marr of the home; his daughter, Catherine Gerke and husband Jeff of Plattsburg, Mo.; three stepsons, Mark Hollingsead and wife Robin of Brandon, Miss., Doug Hollingsead of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jeff Hollingsead and wife Kristen of Armorel; two step-daughters, Amy Sullins and husband, Paul of Dell and Angie Curry and husband, Steve of Fayetteville; two sisters, Peggy Hudson of Springfield, Ore., and Jane White of Graham, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. J. Wayne Moore and Rev. Andy Andros officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family received visitors Saturday morning from 9:30 until service time at the church.
