Chief Master Sgt (ret) Bobbie “Bob” Wayne Todd, 82, died peacefully in Southaven, MS, surrounded by his family on May 23rd, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Bob was born in Cardwell, Missouri to Sherrill and Lurlie Todd.

After graduating from Cardwell High School, he entered the United States Army later transferring to the Air Force and in the process completed 24 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Theater of Operations and a recipient of the Bronze Star. After his service career he completed a bachelor’s degree at Arkansas State and subsequently taught history, civics and economics for 16 years at Blytheville West Jr High School and GED classes for 3 years at Cotton Bowl Vo Tech. In each place he was beloved by his students.

Chief Todd was an avid duck hunter, fisherman and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a passionate family man and took great joy in his family’s accomplishments and gatherings. While pursuing these interests he created a treasure trove of precious memories for those he left behind.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings Nancy Green & Jimmy Todd.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Fondren Todd of the home; children, Robert Todd Kilauea, Hawaii, Teresa (Ed) Stormes of Paragould, Michael (Tabetha) Todd of Southaven, Mississippi, Sandra (Bill) Ross of Jonesboro, Richard (Cassidy) Todd of Southaven, Mississippi; and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25th at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Operation 2nd Chance.
