Walter Anthony Trammell III

Walter Anthony Trammell III of Blytheville passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at Great River Medical Center. He was born in Hayti to Walter and Helen Trammell on July 30, 1964.

Walter was a 1982 graduate of South Pemiscot High School in Steele. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served for 13 years, where he obtained the rank of First Class Petty Officer. He then returned back to his childhood home of Steele, and he was employed at Maverick Tools for a few years, then he started employment at NIBCO where he was employed for 19 years.

Walter accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age. He was a former member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Steele under the spiritual guidance of the late A.L. Burton.

He was an active member of C. Robinson Lodge #10 of Blytheville. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, listening to Blues and Gospel music, and watching his favorite team the Razorbacks.

His memory will forever be cherished by: his wife Sheila of Blytheville, his three children, daughter Temeka Cartwright of Chicago, daughter Payton Trammell Armstrong of Atlanta, and son Christopher Pugh of Blytheville, and step-daughter Breanna Pugh of Blytheville and granddaughter Ramiah Cartwright of Chicago.

Anthony will also be cherished by his mother and father, Helen and Walter Trammell of Blytheville, his two brothers, Michael of Blytheville and Robert of Chesapeake, Virginia, sister-in-law, Wanda of Chesapeake, and his only nephew, Robert Jr. of Chesapeake and a host of cousins, friends and co-workers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at West End Missionary Church. Interment in Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville.

Pall bearers will be Masonic Lodge #10. Honorary pall bearers will be Michael Trammell, Robert Trammell, Cecil Hunt, Andrew Henry, and Joshua Henry.
