James I. Williams, 66, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Blytheville.

James was born in Columbus, OH and raised in Ringgold, LA to Lewis and Marilyn Miller Williams. Better known as Jungle Jim, he was recently retired from Systems Contracting of Blytheville. Veteran of the US Air Force, Mr. Williams was stationed in Blytheville in the early 70s. He was known locally for his artwork that can be seen all over Blytheville. Some of which are the H’s in the doorway of Hays grocery, many Razorback hawgs large and small all over the town and also his yard art that is been designated a Google point of interest. His metal and wooden sculptures have won prizes in the county and state fairs. A few years ago, his work was the subject of an art show here in Blytheville and he has been nominated for the Arkansas Living Treasure Award. Local young people perhaps know Jungle Jim best for his outrageous Halloween decorations and traditions he had put on for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James leaves his wife of 43 years, Julia Harmon; his son, David L. Williams and wife Regina of Chesterfield, MO; his daughter, Jaime DeLine of Blytheville; his brother, Steven Williams and wife Adele of Arvada, CO; five grandchildren and one great grandchild (each one his “favorite”).

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
