Mr. Elbert Emmett Lucas, age 74, of Marion died at his residence in Marion on January 8, 2018.

Born March 15, 1943 in Blytheville to parents Everett Earnest Lucas and Myrtle Mae Richardson Lucas, Elbert was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served as a Corporal Fireman for the U.S. Navy on the LST 1076 USS Page County. Elbert was an amazing father and grandfather who worked very hard to raise his four children as a single parent. He was a highly esteemed mechanic around Crittenden County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Earnest Lucas; his mother, Myrtle Mae Richardson Lucas; and four sisters, Bobbie Craig, Pauline Stafford, Suzie Carner and Florine Vincent.

Elbert is survived by three sisters, Millie Fisher of Lady Lake, Fla., Bertha Rodgers of Millstadt, Ill. and Linda Lucas of Wellington, Ohio; four brothers, Ernest Lucas of Huntsville, Ala., Eddie Lucas of West Memphis, Larry Lucas of Biloxi, Miss. and Jerry Lucas of Memphis, Tenn.

Elbert was an amazing father to four children, Evan Lucas (Sarah) of Marion, Everett Lucas (Amanda) of West Memphis, Edward Lucas of West Memphis and Elisha Shick (Greg) of Marion.

He was a proud grandfather to five grandkids, Jayden and Caleb Lucas of Marion, Kylie Shick of Marion and Katie and James Lucas of West Memphis.

The family would like to welcome friends and loved ones to a memorial service to be held at the Marion Church of God, located at 1747 U.S. Highway 64 in Marion on January 20, 2017. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time.
