Tuesday, January 9, 2018

Mrs. Jewel Louise Tacker, 70, of Blytheville, Arkansas, passed from this life in her home on January 8, 2018, due to complications related to Alzheimer’s disease.

Jewel was born in Covington, Tennessee to Paul Raymond Parten and Dorothy Pauline Parten on August 21, 1947. She married Curtis “Nelson” Tacker on May 7, 1976 in Blytheville. She was a homemaker as well as a retired factory and convenience store worker.

Jewel enjoyed playing cards with friends, gardening, traveling, going to the casinos and watching game shows. However, there was nothing she enjoyed more than her family. She was always the first to volunteer to spend sleepless nights at the hospital with ill family or friends. Jewel made an effort to provide help to any and every one in need. She was truly a woman who gave her all to care for her family and friends.

Jewel was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Pauline Parten; her father, Paul Raymond Parten; and her sister, Martha Parten.

Jewel is survived by her husband, Nelson Tacker, of Luxora; five daughters: Cynthia Moore of Burdette, Regina Vandergriff of Luxora, Pamela Marten of Luxora, Crystal Thomas of Osceola and youngest daughter and longtime caregiver, Kelly Wheeler of Blytheville; three sons, Raymond Hartsfield of Luxora, Jerry Ennis of Ripley, T enn. and Curtis Tacker of Brookland; one stepson, Christopher Burnett of Williford; and her siblings, Margaret Woodruff of Lawrenceville, Ga., Brenda Greene of Thomaston, Ga., Mark Parten of Marrow, Ga., Daniel Parten of Senoia, Ga. and Johnny Parten, of Buford, Ga.; and her stepmother, Virginia Pauline Parten of Buford, Ga.

Jewel, ever the caregiver, would boast of her children, her 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a great number of other relatives and friends.

At Jewel’s request no services will be held. Flowers and condolences may be sent to her home located at 859 East Main Street, Apt E, Blytheville, Ark. 72315.

The family of the late Jewel Tacker wishes to express our thanks and appreciation to relatives, friends and well-wishers who surrounded us with their love and care during this difficult time. We are deeply touched by your helping hands, prayers, and words of encouragement in our period of bereavement. Your acts of kindness and love have not gone unnoticed.
