Edward Dan Pate

Edward Dan Pate, 77, of Monette, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late B.H. and Hazel Sneed Pate and was a 1958 graduate of Leachville High School. A Monette resident for the past 40 years, Ed was a retired construction superintendent and member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Robin Winkle and Kelly Duke, and a brother, Bobby Pate.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sammie Skidmore Pate of the home; two sons, Dan Pate of Bandera, Texas, and Billy Pate of Paragould; one daughter, Tammy Ingram of Paragould; one brother, Bill Pate of Marion, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was 11 a. m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Pastor David Price officiating. Burial followed in the Leachville Cemetery.

The family received visitors from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers included Larry Brown, Shawn Poe, James Thomas, Ricky Copeland, Robert Chambers and Steve Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Brown, A.J. Bandy, Ronnie McFarland, James Lee Poe, Snowden Hawkins, Harvey James, Steve Suber and Hugh Wayne Rose.
