Mrs. Arvell Pate

Mrs. Arvell Pate, 83, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Arvell was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Acie and Gladys (Moore) Gipson. She was a retired nursing home administrator and a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Arvell was an excellent Bible scholar and would get up early in the morning to read and study her Bible. She was a great cook and homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Pate; a sister, Verna Mae Patterson; and a granddaughter, Summer Pate.

Arvell leaves her husband, William Earl Pate of the home; four children, Willie Pate of Blytheville, Gary Pate and his wife Anita of Gosnell, Pamela Ashpaugh of St. Joseph, Missouri and Stewart Pate of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Roy Gipson of Rockford, Illinois; two sisters, Vera Snyder of Rockford, Illinois and Erma Lewell of Russellville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell King, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
