First QC meeting for Judge Brassfield

The Mississippi County Quorum Court (QC) met for its regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening and for the first time it was presided over by newly appointed County Judge Terri Brassfield. The agenda included emotional participation by the children and wife of former County Judge Randy Carney, as well as a number of issues including economic development projects with Southworth Products in Manila and a feasibility study regarding a possible museum/tourism venue at the former Blytheville Air Force Base alert pad. Once Brassfield called the meeting to order, she excitedly proclaimed that it was her first meeting to preside over and those in attendance clapped in approval, with Justice Jo Ann Henton standing and announcing her excitement “especially since you are a woman.”
