Mr. Jimmy Connell

Mr. Jimmy Connell, 69, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Jimmy was born in Blytheville to Homer and Jean (Kelly) Connell and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was retired from Steel Related Technologies where he was the purchasing manager. Jimmy recently went to work at Lowes because he missed working with people. Jimmy served our country honorably in the United States Navy. Jimmy always put others first, especially when it came to family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were the pride and joy of his life. Jimmy’s inviting personality and sense of humor brightened the lives of everyone he met and gave him the ability to make anyone feel like an old friend. He had a passion for life that could be seen in everything he did, whether it was coaching baseball, cooking, doing home projects, taking care of others, or spending time with family. His passion for life will live on through the family that he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Home Gene Connell.

Jimmy leaves his wife, Judy McCanless Connell of the home; two children, Kacey Connell Lorren of Gosnell and Jimbo Connell of Jonesboro; two brothers, Ronnie and Richard Connell, both of Blytheville; three sisters, Janet Connell of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Shirley Lapa of West Palm Beach, Florida and Judy Bynum of Temple, Texas; four grandchildren that he adored, Zack Blocker, Ally Blocker, Macguire Connell and Beau Connell; one great-grandchild, Londyn Jerome; and a special brother-in-law, David Smith and wife Debbie of Belleville, Illinois.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
