R.B. "Pump Handle" Martin

R.B. "Pump Handle" Martin, 78, of Manila, passed from this life Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at his home. Born in Manila he was the son of the late James and Sinnie Sandusky Martin and had been a lifelong Manila resident. He was retired from Southworth in Manila, and earlier in his life he enjoyed working on cars, mowing yards and tending to his garden. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family man. He enjoyed spending time and drinking coffee with his friends at Roadmart in Manila.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, LaWanda Nimmo Martin, his second wife, Charlene Laxton Martin, four brothers, Earnest Martin, Turner Martin, Marvin Martin and James "Snooks" Martin.

Survivors include his daughter, Loretta Boling of Manila; one stepdaughter, Terry Laxton of Pleasant Plains; one brother, Eugene Martin of Monette; five grandsons, Gregory Stone, Randall Haynes, Christopher Haynes, Jeremy Corter and Joshua Corter; two granddaughters, Rebecca Thornsberry and Constance Turner. He also leaves a very special sister-in-law, Frances Walker, his niece Stacy Walker, and a very special friend, Sue Lee, and her family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will followed in Manila Cemetery. Grandsons carried their grandfather to his final resting place.
