Thelma Hale

Thelma May Hale, 82, of Monette, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at her son's home near Monette. Born in Bemis, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Ludy Givins Storey and was raised in western Tennessee and southeast Missouri. She and her late husband, Hillard Hale, had lived in Blytheville before making their home in Leachville in 1972. Thelma had worked as a produce packer during harvest season and was later employed by Teleflora. Following retirement she loved gardening, canning and quilting. She had lived in Monette since 2012 and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Hale.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Hale (Elizabeth) of Monette, James Hale of Jonesboro and Richard Hale (Joyce) of Monette; one brother, Frank Storey of Steele, Mo. She also leaves nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel at Leachville with Rev. Raymond Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. The family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
