Thelbert "Shot" Thomas

Thelbert "Shot" Thomas, 77, of Leachville, passed from this life, Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. He was the son of the late Filo and Cordie Lee Miller Thomas and had been a lifelong Leachville resident. He was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith. In his younger days, he enjoyed spending time at the family cabin, gardening, fishing and tending the donkeys. In his later years, Shot cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, George, Danny and Larry Thomas, and three sisters, Tootsie Towel, Bug Woodward and Doodle Ervin.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Laverne Cole Thomas of Leachville; three sons, Tim Thomas, Norman Thomas (Kristie) and Gary Thomas (Doris), all of Leachville; one daughter, Sheila McFarland (Ronnie) of Monette; nine brothers,

Bobo Thomas of Oxford, Peewee Thomas of Leachville, Jeep Thomas of Monette,

Bill Thomas of Clinton, Dean Thomas of Shirley, Harvey Thomas of Clinton, Tony Thomas of Concorde, Johnny Thomas of Cash and Albert Dow of Bentonville; five sisters, Linda Pendergrass of Monette, Debby Pemberton of Leachville, Joanie Cantrell of Monette, Mary Dow of Bentonville and Marilyn Sevier of Bentonville.

He also leaves two grandchildren, Hollie Goodson (Les) and Kimzey Cagle (Holly); one great-granddaughter, Hadlie Goodson; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Graig Stull officiating. Burial followed at 3 p.m. in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman.

The family received visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
