William Melton

William Joey "Bill" Melton, age 76, formerly of Crestview, Fla., passed from this life Saturday, May, 6, 2017, at the Vandivor home place in Manila. Born in Lobeville, TN, he was the son of the late Clarence and Eula Ferguson Melton and was raised in Manila. He retired from Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, Mo., in 1996 after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy and enjoyed playing pool and woodworking. A favorite pastime was attending the Sebring High School "Blue Streaks" basketball games. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Melvine Stephens, Beverly Blount and Goldus Rouelbauch.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eva Ruth Vandivor Melton of the home; a son, Marvin Melton (Pamela) of Tyler, TX; a daughter, Cindy Nelms (Lyle) of Manila; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, in the Manila Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Eddings officiating under the direction of Howard Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:45 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45.
