Helen Ludean Blevins

Helen Ludean Blevins, 80, of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday, April 27, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Mabel Wallace Ballard and had been a Leachville resident the past 72 years. She enjoyed children which was evident by the fact that it seems she had babysat most every child in Leachville. Another thing she was passionate about was her flower garden and vegetable garden. She enjoyed canning her harvest and giving of her bounty to neighbors, friends and family. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Blevins of the home; three sons, Marlin Miller (Phyllis) and David Miller, all of Leachville, and Brent Miller of Paragould; two daughters, Vickie Hill of Monette and Melinda Bryant (Terry) of Charleston, S.C.; three stepsons, David Blevins (Julie) of Paragould,

Ernest Blevins (Robin) of Marble Hill, Mo., and Glenard Blevins (Teresa) of Batesville; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Bro. David Price officiating. Burial followed in the Leachville Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were James Skinner, Darrin McFall, Jerry Shrable, Jackie Miller, B.R. Miller and J.R. Lawrence. Honorary pallbearer was Barry Miller.
