Ms. Effie T. Palmore Rodgers, 89 passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Ms. Rodgers was born October 18, 1929 to Jake Palmer and Annie Bell Thomas Palmer in Cruger, Missouri. She was a retired housekeeper and a nanny by trade. She was a member of New Mt. Olive M.B. Church, Mother Board, Choir, and Eastern Star and Feeding Ministry.

Ms. Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Annie Palmore; two sons, Larry Thomas and William Earl Rodgers; two daughters, Pearline Rodgers and Annie Bell Rodgers; four brothers and four sisters.

Ms. Rodgers leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, John Edward Rodgers of Blytheville, Roy Lee Rodgers of Blytheville and David Lee Rodgers of Blytheville;

One step son, Kevin Taylor of Blytheville;

Three daughters, Rosemary Rodgers of Chicago Ill., Barbara Staley of Chicago Ill. and Jacqueline Rodgers of Jackson Mo.;

One special like daughter, Johnny Pearl Rogers;

Adopted brother, Arthur Magnum of Blytheville;

Three sisters, Ora Willis of Blytheville, Beatrice Talley of Blytheville and Mary Diamond of Kansas City, Mo.;

Twenty grandchildren

Twenty great grandchildren;

Five great-great grandchildren; and

A host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on April 28, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. at New Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Blytheville. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Blytheville, with Rev. Douglas Echols officiating. Services will be provided by Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville.
