Franklin Hamilton, 82, of Manila, passed from this life March 21, 2017, at his home. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Rupert Franklin and Vivian Cambell Hamilton and had been a lifelong area resident. A self-employed carpenter, he and his wife had also owned and operated the former Hamilton's Restaurant and Circle Inn of Manila. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Manila.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Dewayne Hamilton and Robert Earl Hamilton; three brothers, Jack Hamilton, Bill Hamilton and Gene Hamilton; and two sisters, Martha Burchard and Linda Moody.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Corine Gray Hamilton of the home; one son, Gary Lynn Hamilton and wife Rose of Manila; three grandsons, Mike Hamilton and wife Chrystal, Jeff Hamilton and wife Miranda and Frank Hamilton and wife Jonna; one granddaughter, Danielle Hamilton and husband Terry Nicholson; one stepgrandson, Jason Lloyd; and five great-grandchildren, Noah Hamilton, Emma Hamilton, Kingston Young, Harleigh Hamilton and Atllie Wagner.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Rudy Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Hamilton, Jeff Hamilton, Frank Hamilton, Noah Hamilton, Terry Nicholson and Gene Adams. Honorary pallbearers will include Franklin Kirby, Jimmy Adams, Steve Shelton, Fred Burks, Lynn Burks and Ernie Malloy.

The family will receive visitors Friday morning from 9 until service time.
