Mary Evelyn Rogers

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Rogers, 86, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Grace Healthcare in Cordova, Tennessee.

She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Ernest and Ruby (Simmons) Martin. Mary attended Luxora schools. She was a homemaker and lived in the Lost Cane community during the 1930s and 1940s. Mary moved extensively around the country with her husband during his career as a Postal Inspector. They later settled in Bartlett, Tennessee after his retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman Ray Rogers; her parents; and brothers, Ernest Martin, Jr. and Robert Calvin Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21 in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeffery Knowlton officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home.
