William H. Collier

Mr. William H. Collier, 68, of Blytheville, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

William was born to Everett and Frankie (Booker) Collier in Blytheville. He worked at Nucor Yamato as a heavy equipment operator and in maintenance. William served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received his Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Vietnam Service Medal after being wounded during the war. William liked all sports and especially the Razorbacks. His home was the gathering place for his family and he loved to cook, especially for the holidays. William was an animal lover and loved his cats.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers-in-law, Johnnie Nutt and Rickey Moore.

William leaves a brother, Arden Collier (Ann) of Clarkston, Michigan; six sisters, Bettye Nutt of Blytheville, Barbara Gossage (Bob) of Chandler, Arizona, Mary Arndt (Ed) of Germantown, Tennessee, Pattie Lovins (Ron) of Marked Tree, Peggy Nichols (Travis) of Nederland, Texas and Debbie Moore of Blytheville; 13 nieces and nephews; and 20 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 10 in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Lovins officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
