Ralph Peyton, 79, of Manila, passed from this life Jan. 29, 2017, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born at Milligan Ridge he was the son of the late Clifford and Mary Jane Hicks Peyton and was raised in the Manila area. He was a retired electrician for Parker Brass in Plainwell and Otsego, Mich. He also worked with the Allegan County Sheriff's Reserve Unit for 13 years. He returned to the Manila area in 1997, was a lifetime member of the Paragould Masonic Lodge and a member of the Blackwater Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Devore, Thelma Peyton, Lavella Peyton, Louise Gernhart and Beulah Hultquist.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Clara Lott Peyton of the home; son, Clifford Randolph Peyton of Manila; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Mayo and husband Bobby Ray of Otsego, Mich.; Bertha Jane Slater of Waverly, Tenn.; one brother, Clifford Leon Peyton of Leachville; one sister, Virginia Louise Myers of Black Oak; two grandchildren, Bobby Allen Mayo and Vicky Fay Mikowski, both of Plainwell, Mich.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. Feb. 3, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Dennis Hiser, Benny Blackmon, Bobby Allen Mayo, Ray Hiser, Tommy Gernhart and Malcomb Johnson. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Chris Mikowski.

The family will receive visitors Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
