J.B. Rice

J.B. Rice, 89, of Manila, passed from this life Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at his home. A lifelong Manila resident, he was the son of the late Ben and Ida Belle Jackson Rice and was retired from the Randall Textron Company in Blytheville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hedge Rice; two brothers, Murel Rice and Ancil Rice; and three sisters, Harriet Schultz, Loraine Hutton and Edith Nau.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Rice and Pam Renfroe, both of Manila; a granddaughter raised in the home, Kim Dirks, of Hillsboro, Kan.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. David Fair officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.
