Rev. Bobby Lloyd Tidwell
To our beloved father and husband Rev. Bobby Lloyd Tidwell, who went to join our Lord on December 10, 2016 at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis.
Born to Dorothy Jewell and Walter E. Tidwell in Osceola on March 9, 1947, he attended Osceola Schools and graduated from Dyess High School in 1965. He then served in the Vietnam War and the U.S. Army for three years. He attended Pentecostal Bible Institute three years and returned home in 1969 to Osceola to pastor Bethel Church of The Lord Jesus Christ. He taught Bible College and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Theology. He pastored until his death.
He is survived by his wife Linda Kay Powell Tidwell of 47 years, whom he married in 1969;
Three sons, Philip (Christy) Tidwell, Stephen (Leslie) Tidwell and Ritchie (Gayla) Tidwell;
One daughter, Melissa (Dale) Cook;
Five granddaughters, Haley Tidwell, Makayla Cook, Abigail Tidwell, Gabrielle Tidwell and Naomi Tidwell;
Four grandsons, Gage Tidwell, Matthew Cook, Caleb Tidwell and Seth Tidwell;
One sister, Norma Carpenter; and
One brother, Malcolm Tidwell.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Ruth Tidwell Langston. Rev. Bobby Tidwell pastored for 42 years. We will be at a loss at Bethel Church as the congregation is left to mourn his passing. He was loved and served many friends, church members and many looked to him for guidance. He was a kind man and full of wisdom.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Bethel Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ in Osceola. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Bethel Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ in Osceola and interment will follow at Ermen Lane.
