Glenn Dobbins

Glenn Dobbins, 85, of Manila, passed from this life, Saturday Dec. 3, 2016, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in the Hancock community near Caraway, he was the son of the late Austin and Bertha Jones Dobbins and was raised in Milligan Ridge. Glenn was a 1949 graduate of Manila High School and was a retired field technician for the Soil Conservation Service. He had been a longtime member of the Milligan Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and was known by friends and family as a man of great humility with a servant's heart. He enjoyed renovating, remodeling, and selling homes, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dois Boren Dobbins, 1 brother, Sallee Dobbins, and 1 sister, Irene Thompson.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Dobbins and his wife, Connie, of Jonesboro, Roy Gene Thomas of Osceola , Terry Thomas and his wife, Gail, of Huntsville, Ark.; two daughters, Judy Abernathy and her husband, David, of Jonesboro, and Teresa Eastin and her husband, Duke, of Manila; two brothers,

twin brother, Lenn Dobbins and his wife, Margaret, of Blytheville, Eugene Dobbins and his wife, Imogene, of Manila; and eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Dec, 6, 2016, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Mike Book officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home in Manila.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Jackson, Kent Gipson, Bobby Barker, Michael Minton, Floyd Winstead, and Ronald Holt. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
