Travis Dwain Wigton

Mr. Travis Dwain Wigton, 58, of Rockford, Ill. passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at home surrounded by his family after a long fight with lung cancer. He was born on April 16, 1958 to Joe Travis Wigton and Gertrude Elain (Bowen) Wigton of Luxora. Travis attended high school in Dell and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1979 to 1984. He later was employed with Textron in Rockford, Ill. and later with Progressive Steel in Loves Park, Ill.. Nothing in Travis' life was more important than his family. Though he never had children, it never stopped him from treating his several cousins, niece and nephew as they were his own. His love of fishing, hunting, and Cubs baseball were only enhanced, because he was there to do it all with his family. His humorous, stubborn, forgiving and loving soul will be missed.

Travis is survived by brothers, Kevin (Cornellia) Wigton of Winnebago, Ill., Brian (Nancy) Wigton of Loves Park, Ill., and Jason (Maria) Wigton of Rockford, Ill.; stepmother, Karen Seibold of Winnebago, Ill.; several cousins; and niece and nephew. Predeceased by his father, Joe; mother, Elain; brother, David; and significant paternal grandparents, Eldridge and Annie Mae Wigtion of Dell.

The family sends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice Care, Verdia Wigtion, Jenny Hancock and Brianna Brauer. Travis would also have acknowledged Melissa and Kylie.

Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00am followed by the Funeral Service at 12:30pm in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Ill..
