Ida Lee Battles Guthrie

Lonoke -- Ida Lee Battles Guthrie, 88, formerly of Monette, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. She was born June 6, 1928, in Black Oak to late James Calvin Battles and Ina Bell Anderson Battles. She was a co-owner of a grocery store for many years. She enjoyed all kinds of puzzles and will be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Bobby and Juanita Guthrie of Mason, Tenn., Sandra and R.B. Moore and Sherryl and Jack Miller, all of Lonoke; a sister, Clora White of Anchorage, Alaska; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Buddy" Guthrie and four sisters.

A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, at Monette Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment followed.

The family received friends from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
