Virgie Lee Suggs

Virgie Lee Suggs passed away on Nov. 9, 2016, at her home in Manila, at the age of 80. She was born July 7, 1936, in Greenwood, Miss., to Shelly and Pearl Lee Stanback Boose. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by nine daughters, Caffie, Robin, Mavis, Renee and Helen Suggs, all of Manila, Christina (Lupe) Lopez of Manila, Tina Suggs of Blytheville, Mildred (Lennie) McLaurin of Blytheville, and Shellie Rayford of Osceola; a brother, James Edward Boose of Chicago, Ill.; one grandson, Michael William of Cordova, Tenn.; and a host of other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nathaniel Suggs; her son Nathaniel Allen Suggs; a daughter, Johnnie Lee Williams; six brothers; two sisters; and a granddaughter, Natalie Rayford.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Nov. 12, at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Rev. Burton Furlow officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Homes.
