Andrew Bennett "Benny" Powers, 77, of Searcy, formerly of Manila, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in Searcy. He was born May 23, 1939, in Coldwater, Miss., to William Chester Powers and Janie Virginia Bourland Powers. He was a member of Searcy First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Entergy.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nell Barcom Powers, of Searcy; two sons, Steven Bennett Powers of Callahan, Fla., and Andrew Todd Powers and wife Brenda of Cabot; and four grandchildren, Laura Powers, Corey Powers, Madison Powers and Drew Powers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Warren Powers and Freddie Mitchell Powers; and a grandson, Shane Collins.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Searcy First Baptist Church with interment at White County Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were under the direction of Powell Funeral Home of Searcy.
