Etta Faye Lance, 64, of Piggott, passed from this life Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Piggott she was the daughter of the late Burtis and Lydia Smart Tate and had been a lifelong Piggott area resident. She was a 1970 graduate of Piggott High School, a former employee of Emerson Electric in Kennett and was retired from the Piggott School District after 24 years as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Benny Tate, Leon Tate and Gaylon Tate.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Phillip Lance of the home; son, Jason Lance and wife Becky of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; grandson, Xander Lance of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five brothers, Linuel Tate of Piggott, Tommy Tate of Jonesboro, Terry Tate of Campbell, Mo., Don Tate of Tucson, Ariz., and Ricky Tate of Piggott.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in the Mitchell Cemetery near Greenway, under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
