Missouri -- Jack William Short, son of the late George William Short and Betty Sue (Swinger) Hall, was born July 6, 1968, in St. Louis, Mo., and departed this life on July 7, 2016, at the age of 48 years. Jack married Kimberly Jo Peterson on March 5, 1988.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Short of Kennett, Mo.; one son, Coby Jo Short of Kennett, Mo.; father-in-law, Bob Peterson of Kennett, Mo.; sister-in-law, Kathy and Brian Rogers of Kennett, Mo.; aunts and uncles, Nancy and Mike Ross and Mary and Don Davis, all of Kennett, Mo., Randy and Connie Swinger of Williamsville, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Drake and Magen Daniels of Kennett, Mo., Abbigail Daniels of Jonesboro, Grant and Holly Rogers of Springfield, Mo.; five cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.

Jack was preceded in death by one son, William Garrett Short.

Jack was the owner and operator of Bootheel Ag Air Services, LLC.

Visitation was from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center in Kennett, Mo., with a celebration of life service following at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary in Kennett. Reverends Jeff Long and Ed Jansson officiated.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kennett Educational Foundation/Athletic Fund.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
