Murel Rice

Murel Rice, age 101, of Manila, passed from this life, Sunday July 3, 2016 at his home. Born in Manila to pioneer settlers, Ben and Ida Belle Jackson Rice, he had been a lifelong area resident and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He and his late wife of 78 years, Linnie Mifflin Rice, were both former longtime employees of the Manila Nursing Center in addition to working on the family farm. Murel was a member of Souls Harbor Pentecost Church in Manila.

Survivors include a brother, J. B. Rice of Manila, and 6 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday July 6, 2016 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. David Fair officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1pm until service time. Guest register @www.HowardFuneralService.com
