Doris Gean Rountree

Doris Gean Rountree, 77, longtime Manila area resident and widow of Arthur Rountree, passed from this life, Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born in Leachville, she was the daughter of the late Willie Edward and Mary Ellen Kincaid Fleeman and had lived most of her life in the Brown Spur community. She was retired from the Big Lake Country Club and was a member of the Brown's Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Diane Hiser.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Cathy Rountree, James and Mary Rountree and Michael and Beverly Rountree, all of Manila; two brothers, Tommy Fleeman of Selma, Calif., and Jimmy Fleeman of Monette; three sisters, Norma Stacy of Leachville, Carolyn Robertson of Osceola and Helen Wiseman of Senath, Mo. She also leaves her son-in-law, Lenny Hiser of Manila, 10 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Larry Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Nichols, Justin Benham, Josue Perez, Ronnie Joe Rountree, Michael Cathey and Noah Shelton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
