Sewer issue on Moultrie impacts 600 customers, traffic

The city of Blytheville is looking at an expensive fix for a busted sewer pipe on Moultrie. There are approximately 600 sewer customers affected, and Moultrie has been reduced to one lane at the site of the break. Blytheville Mayor James Sanders said if the roadway begins to buckle, the city may shutdown part of Moultrie. While he didn't have an estimated cost, Sanders noted a similar repair several years ago was about $250,000. Aging infrastructure is causing headaches in several areas of town.
