Edward Ray Clouse of Blytheville passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at the age of 87.

Ray was born in Curdsville, Ky, on May 28, 1928. He graduated valedictorian of his class from Armorel High School in 1947 and joined the Army soon after, and was deployed to Germany. He attended The University of Arkansas and earned a degree in electrical engineering. Ray was a Civil Service employee at the SAC Air Force Base in Blytheville as the Chief Engineer for 22 years until he retired in 1985. He married Doris Sheppard in 1964 and was married for 32 years. Ray was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also an advocate for the poor.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Fannie Frey Clouse; wife, Doris Sheppard Clouse; sister, Lucille Clouse Byrd; and brother, James Clouse.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
