Glenda Ellen Carpenter Gill

Glenda Ellen Carpenter Gill, 62, of Steele and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at her home.

Born to Lloyd and Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) Carpenter, Glenda was the owner/operator of River City Spice Company and Razorback Carry Out. She loved plants and barbequing. Along with her husband, Ray Alan Gill, they won numerous awards for their barbeque and were nationally and internationally known Pit Masters.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Alan Gill; and her father, Lloyd Carpenter.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Ginger Thompson and her husband Victor of Finley, Tenn.; mother, Elizabeth Carpenter of Mobile, Ala.; mother-in-law, Eva Gill of Blytheville; brother, Allen Carpenter of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Phyllis Bullock of Spanish Fort, Ala., Aileen Morgan of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Janet Hodges of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and granddaughter, Gabriella Brown.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
