Mr. Jean Ellis "Jack" Pierce, 93, of Maumelle, former longtime Leacvhille resident, passed from this life Sunday February 14, 2016 at the Stonehaven Assisted Living Center in Maumelle.

Born in Senath and raised in Leachville, he was the son of the late Lewis Christopher and India Ham Pierce and had been a longtime Leachville resident before making his home in Maumelle five years ago. He was a 1941 graduate of Leachville High School, was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII where he served as a bombardier navigator in the Philippines. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 40 years of service. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Leachville and the First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Wilma Jean McDonald Pierce in 2008, one daughter, Jean Elizabeth Harper in 2000, two brothers, Ralph and Robert Pierce.

Survivors include:

One daughter, Gale Robertson and her husband Jim of Maumelle;

One sister, Fan Jones of St. Louis;

Four grandchildren, Johnathan Harper and his wife Marcia, Sarah Welch and her husband Rich, Kellie Robertson and her husband Joseph and Candice Lang.

He also leaves three great-grandchildren, Levi Robertson, Elijah Robertson and Nikola Welc.h

Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
