Billy Eugene Taylor, 79, of Monette passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1936, at Caraway. He was the son of the late Bill Henry and Edith Ballard Taylor. Billy "Gene" served his country for a short term in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for TWA (Trans World Airlines) for 25 years and achieved airplane and power plant license during this time as a sheet metal mechanic.

Billy loved hunting, fishing and water sports, teaching his children the same. He loved music of all kinds, he taught himself to play guitar and keyboard. He was very positive in life and usually singing a tune wherever he went, such as "Oh, Danny Boy," which was one of his favorites.

Billy and loving wife Bonnie were united in marriage together for 59 years, until she passed in February 2014. He was a caring, loving husband and father, who truly will be missed by all.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Tate and husband James Tate of Liberty, Mo., with a daughter Cheree Tate of Leawood, Kan.; two sons, Ronald Eugene Taylor of Arbyrd, Mo., and Darryl W. Taylor and fiancee Cindy Carrier of Lake City; a brother, Bobby Taylor and his wife Delores of Columbia, Mo.; a stepbrother, Jerry Shoate of Las Vegas, and two stepsisters, Peggy Konald of Whitehall, Mont., and Pat Anderjack of Las Vegas.

The Taylor family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Monette, followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service with the Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial was in the Lou Lou Cemetery after services.
