Glen Rolland, 72, of Monette, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 28, 1942, to the late William and Alice Rolland. Glen graduated Monette High School and retired from the telephone company after thirty-seven years.

He also had Big G's Produce where he peddled everything from apples to watermelons. Big G enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with people and always had a tale to tell. He loved his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a member of the Monette Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Donna Mullen Rolland; his children, Chris Rolland (Terrie), Mark Rolland (Janet), Faith Rolland and Matt Rolland (Angie); five brothers, Jack Rolland, Larry Rolland (Gaye), Benny Rolland (Robin), Jerry Rolland (Loretta) and Fred Rolland (Jane); three sisters, Freda Vaughn, Shirley Johnson (Joe) and Patsy Redding (Oscar); six grandchildren, Ellena Cox (Paul), Michael Collins (Jeanne), Jered Rolland, Jamie Lee Rolland, Derek Rolland (Kara) and Amber Rolland; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cox, Paige Cox, Alysia Cox, Lainee Gulledge, Jaxon Chancellor and Brayden Rolland.

He was also preceded in death by his oldest brother, Bill Rolland; a brother-in-law, Les Vaughn; a sister-in-law, Pat Rolland.

A celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jerry Reed and Shawn McElannon officiating. Burial followed at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Jered Rolland, Derek Rolland, Michael Collins, Paul Cox, Justin Rolland, Kevin Mullen and Keith Mullen.
