Clarence Carmichael

Clarence Junior Carmichael, 68 of Manila, died Sunday Nov. 22, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Newport, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Margie Smith Carmichael and had been a resident of the Leachville and Manila areas since 1959. He was a retired farmer, having worked many years for Wildy Farms, and was of the Baptist Faith. He was an aviation enthusiast, and also had an interest in trains and tractors of all kinds.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Byrum, Cookie Speakman, and Martha Tillie.

He is survived by a brother, Tommy Carmichael of Burdette; three sisters, Patsy Norton of Helena, Tappy Bedwell of Brookland, and Amy McCain of Manila. He also leaves his cousins; Gerald Carmichael, Ronnie Carmichael, Gary Carmichael, Sr., Paul Carmichael, and Kenny Carmichael, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Graig Stull officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 5-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Shane Lamb, James Carmichael, Michael Carmichael, Anthony Stone, Wayne Gross, and Alex Lawrence.
